a Brilliant Smile
Having a brilliant white smile can boost your confidence personally and professionally. Teeth whitening is one of our most popular cosmetic procedures, and with good reason! When going into social situations, you automatically feel you are being treated better if your teeth have that much sought-after luminous glow. You will soon realize that you can connect more easily with those around you when you know you look your best.
We offer a variety of treatment methods to fit your individual needs and help you achieve the results you want. Even tough stains from coffee, tobacco, wine, and more will disappear.
It is only natural that, over time, teeth start losing their luster. With age, the enamel becomes porous which leads to it absorbing stain-causing substances. The effect can be worsened by consuming certain beverages and foods, smoking or chewing tobacco, or brushing and flossing improperly. Discoloration can also result from some medicines and medical treatments, exposure to excessive amounts of fluoride, mouth rinses or dental trauma.
Fortunately, discoloration can be removed using our non-invasive whitening process. Teeth whitening removes some of those outer layers of discoloration. Your brilliant white teeth will make you feel more attractive, and as a result you will be more engaging to those around you.
At Skyline Dental Designs, we offer premier teeth whitening services in Weehawken. We use the KöR teeth whitening system because we believe it is far superior to other systems. The bleaching product is shipped to us refrigerated, meaning it doesn’t deteriorate with temperature change and ensures maximum results.
We offer two different types of teeth whitening treatment:
Our in-office treatment is a painless cosmetic procedure that results in noticeably whiter teeth with just one visit. Come in and relax in the surroundings of one of our beautifully designed practice rooms.
The teeth whitening process involves dehydrating your tooth so the hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide can create the whitening by being absorbed into the tooth.
Your doctor will then apply a whitening gel that utilizes oxidizing agents to break down stains. The system uses a highly concentrated gel that releases the oxidizing agents. The process may be repeated a few times to obtain optimum results.
We will also custom-design a whitening tray that can be used at home for follow-up maintenance and to prolong the result of the in-office treatment. KöR whitening has an at-home component and certain KöR products require both the at-home and in-office component.
At Skyline Dental Designs we use several different types of KöR product for your teeth whitening:
KöR-Night is a nightime whitening system that gives a brilliant whitening result at a lower cost. Typically, patients have two weeks of at-home nighttime whitening with KöR-Night, which uses a gel containing 16% carbamide peroxide. They will then need periodic at-home maintenance.
A versatile and effective system that uses a combination of in-home whitening with one in-office visit.
Treatment typically involves 2 weeks of at-home nighttime whitening, as well as a single in-office whitening visit utilizing KöR 34% Dual-Activated Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide gel. The treatment is followed up with periodic at-home maintenance.
The KöR ULTRA Whitening System works particularly well on stubborn stains including fluorosis, which is a result of overexposure to fluoride during the first eight years of life and darker stains on older teeth.
Patients undergo one in-office conditioning visit utilizing KöR 13% Dual-Activated, Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide gel that is delivered in specifically designed trays. The treatment then includes 3-4 weeks of at-home nighttime whitening. The treatment is concluded with a final in-office whitening visit. Patients have KöR 34% Dual-Activated and Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide gel. To maintain the brilliant white look, periodic at-home maintenance is necessary.
Staining from tetracycline (an antibiotic) occurs due to calcification and mineralization of the teeth in combination with taking the antibiotic. The dark yellow and brown stains that are a result of the process were once thought to be untreatable. However, KöR Ultra-T has been designed to remove these most difficult of stains and delivers fantastic results.
Typically patients have an in-office conditioning visit utilizing KöR 13% Dual-Activated, Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide gel delivered in KöR-Seal Whitening Trays; 6-8 weeks of at-home nighttime whitening; and a final, in-office whitening visit utilizing KöR 34% Dual-Activated Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide gel. Treatment to maintain whiteness involves periodic at-home maintenance.
Now, you can apply a professional whitening treatment in the comfort of your own home. We will simply take a digital scan of your teeth to create a custom whitening tray that fits perfectly to your teeth. The whitening gel can specifically target each of your teeth to give you spectacular results.
We know how difficult it can be to keep your teeth pearly white, even with a diligent oral healthcare routine. Here are a few steps you can take to ensure your professional whitening treatments lasts for as long as possible.
Good oral hygiene, including brushing and flossing regularly can prevent bacteria buildup that can lead to staining, gingivitis and gum disease. At Skyline Dental Designs we recommend you brush your teeth at least twice a day and try to brush your teeth immediately after you eat to remove any food and drink residue.
Tobacco products contain two products that are the enemy of a bright white smile: tar and nicotine. Tar has a brown/black coloration and nicotine is colorless until mixed with oxygen, turning the substance yellow. When tar and nicotine make contact with your teeth, they embed into the small, microscopic openings in your enamel, leaving a brown/yellow stain on your teeth.
Unfortunately, some of your favorite foods can be the worst offenders when it comes to staining your teeth. Coffee, tea, and soda can make it much harder to keep a white smile. However, acidic foods (such as citrus fruits), curry, soy sauce, and tomato sauce may also create surface stains on your teeth. Candy, sports drinks, and wine can create a yellowing effect over time.
Scheduling a checkup every six months can help to ensure a brighter, whiter smile. In addition to giving your teeth a polish, we can check your teeth for many issues that could cause discoloration, such as gingivitis.
We offer a safe, affordable and effective teeth whitening treatment at Skyline Dental Designs so our practice can deliver premier teeth whitening services in Weehawken. Our process is done by highly-trained professionals.
Did you know it is also scientifically proven you cannot whiten your teeth too much? However, you may feel more sensitivity in your teeth for a small amount of time due to dehydration.
