The Invisalign system works by providing patients with a series of clear plastic aligners which give you the ability to achieve your perfect smile even faster.
Typically, patients with conditions including crooked or misaligned teeth, cross-bites, crowding, open-bites, gapped teeth, overbites, and underbites can see great results with Invisalign.
The clear aligners must be worn 20 to 22 hours a day to experience the best results and are only taken out to eat, brush, and floss. The majority of patients can see an improvement in four to six months with visible changes to their smile.
When patients book to have an Invisalign treatment program, we initially assess how frequently aligners need to be changed to achieve optimal results. We then use a Medit 3D digital scanner and dental records to create a smile simulation and get the most accurate images of a person’s teeth to create the aligners.
At your initial consultation, Dr. Kaplan discusses your orthodontic needs and can evaluate whether Invisalign treatment is right for you.
If you are a good fit, we work with you to design a custom treatment plan so that it is completely aligned with your needs.
We use a digital scanner and your dental records so we can ascertain the exact movements of your teeth and how long your treatment may take. You'll get to see how your teeth will move and preview your dazzling new smile.
Once you have started your personalized treatment schedule, your teeth will gently and gradually shift into place as you wear each set of aligners. Dr. Kaplan may recommend you wear a new set of aligners every week. Checkups are usually scheduled every six weeks or so.
When your treatment is complete, you have the option to use a Vivera® retainer. Vivera retainers are custom-made using the same state-of-the-art technology as Invisalign clear aligners.
